Bailing on a workout

Just couldn’t keep it up

Have you ever been in the thick of a workout and just couldn’t keep your head into it. That was me today. I was in the early interval of 16x100m and just couldn’t concentrate. My head was thinking about work, family and my current piriformis injury. Have you ever pulled the plug on a workout? I always feel I have to keep going. I didn’t have it in me to stop the workout completely, so I cut the 16×100 to half and continued with the rest of the workout.

I must have flipped a switch in my head though. Because once I did the 100m recovery I felt an energy I was clearly lacking for the first set. I was able to pull off the workout in the end. But it was a struggle to keep with it.

If you have any tips or tricks to get over the hump when you are struggling please send me a note and let me know. I am open to any advice that you might want to share.

Get out and grind it!
