Training During a pandemic

Just couldn’t keep it up

So, this is crazy. What a world we are living in now. We are stuck in the house and only allowed to leave for essentials. But this is also a great time to train. Because we are stuck at home I am using the time to be with family, work and training. Over the past 6 weeks I have gotten more training time in. I am able to get away from my desk and do a small weight workout or swim band training. 

I am still getting up early to get the big workouts in. But, it is definitely a different time for training. As triathletes we need to practice all three discipline. But we can’t get to the gym to swim. And if you aren’t equipped with cardio equipment at home you are going to struggle. I was able to pick up a treadmill just before the order to work from home came down.

We just need to remember that staying home is staying safe. We need to keep our training up and not get discouraged. Keep training, keep moving forward. Be ready for when we can race again.
